These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and DipWatch ("DipWatch," "we," "us," or "our") for the DipWatch macOS menu-bar app, related services, and this website. DipWatch is operated by an independent developer in Canada. By downloading, accessing, or using DipWatch, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
1. Eligibility and Your Account
You must be at least 13 years old to use DipWatch, and you must be legally able to agree to these Terms. A DipWatch account is required. You may create one using Apple or Google sign-in. Keep your account secure and do not share access to it. You are responsible for activity performed through your account.
2. The Service
DipWatch lets you submit Amazon product links, view product and price information, track products, and receive local macOS notifications when a meaningful price change is detected. Price checks run in the background when the service is available. The app may use cached or delayed data, and notifications can be affected by network connectivity, macOS settings, retailer changes, or third-party service outages.
3. Price Information and Amazon Links
DipWatch is not a retailer, seller, or agent of Amazon. We do not guarantee that a displayed price, currency, product description, image, availability, shipping cost, or promotion is accurate or current. The price and terms shown by Amazon at checkout control your purchase. Review the retailer's page before buying.
DipWatch is not affiliated with Amazon. Your use of Amazon is subject to Amazon's terms and privacy policy.
4. Credits and Purchases
DipWatch currently provides eligible new accounts with 50 welcome credits and offers a one-time credit pack currently listed as 300 credits for $2.99, subject to the price displayed by Apple for your storefront. There are no subscriptions in the current service. Credit packs and prices may change for future purchases; a change will not reduce credits already granted to your account except where required to address fraud, a technical error, or a legal requirement.
- Automatic tracking uses 1 credit per product per UTC day.
- Manual refresh uses 1 credit per refresh.
- Credits do not expire, have no cash value, and cannot be transferred or sold.
- Tracking pauses when your available credits are exhausted.
Purchases are made through Apple's in-app purchase system. Apple controls payment processing, taxes, currency conversion, and its purchase and refund procedures. RevenueCat helps validate transactions and deliver purchase information to DipWatch so credits can be added to your account. Except where applicable law requires otherwise, purchase and refund requests must follow Apple's applicable process.
If you delete your account, unspent purchased credits may be recorded for restoration if you later return with the same Apple or Google identity. Free welcome credits are not restored after user-requested deletion.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use DipWatch unlawfully or in a way that violates Amazon, Apple, Google, or another provider's terms.
- Submit URLs or information you do not have the right to use.
- Attempt to obtain free credits, bypass usage limits, probe the backend, or interfere with price checks.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, modify, redistribute, or exploit DipWatch except where applicable law permits it.
- Use automated access, scraping, or other methods that place an unreasonable load on DipWatch or its providers.
- Use DipWatch to infringe another person's rights or to transmit malicious code.
6. Ownership and License
DipWatch and its software, branding, design, and content are owned by DipWatch or its licensors. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app on a Mac that you control. You retain ownership of information you submit, and you authorize us to process it as needed to provide the service and as described in our Privacy Policy.
7. Third-Party Services
DipWatch depends on third parties, including Apple, Google, Firebase, RevenueCat, Amazon, and our product data provider. Those services may have separate terms, privacy policies, pricing, outages, or limits. We are not responsible for third-party services or for content, products, or transactions you access through them.
8. Changes, Suspension, and Termination
We may change, suspend, or discontinue all or part of DipWatch, including credit pack availability, price-check frequency, and notification behavior. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, create security or fraud risk, or if continuing the service would be illegal or impractical. You may stop using DipWatch at any time and can request account deletion in the app. Sections that by their nature should continue, including ownership, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and payment records, will continue after termination.
9. Disclaimers
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DIPWATCH IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT DIPWATCH WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR THAT PRICE INFORMATION OR NOTIFICATIONS WILL BE COMPLETE, TIMELY, OR ACCURATE. YOU USE DIPWATCH AND FOLLOW PRODUCT LINKS AT YOUR OWN DISCRETION.
10. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DIPWATCH AND ITS OPERATOR WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, DATA, SAVINGS, OR OPPORTUNITIES ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO DIPWATCH. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO DIPWATCH WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO DIPWATCH FOR THE SERVICE IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM OR 100 CANADIAN DOLLARS. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded or limits mandatory consumer rights.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Canada and the province or territory in which DipWatch's operator is located, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Mandatory consumer protections in the place where you live continue to apply.
12. Apple App Store Terms
If you obtained DipWatch through Apple's Mac App Store, Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms. Apple is not responsible for DipWatch, has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it, and is not responsible for resolving claims relating to DipWatch. Your use must also comply with the applicable Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms as DipWatch changes. The effective date at the top identifies the current version. If you continue to use DipWatch after updated Terms are posted, you agree to the updated Terms.
